Ovulation is a process when a mature
egg or ovum is released from the ovary, pushed down the fallopian tube and is
available to be fertilized. This process happens every month. The time when
this process happens are also referred as ovulatory phase.
Key features of Ovulation
- Generally only one egg is released at time of ovulation
- An egg lives 12-24 hours after the ovulation
- mplantation of a fertilized egg normally takes place 6-12 days after ovulation
- If an egg is not fertilized, it disintegrates and is absorbed into the uterine lining
Ovulation Test
Ovulation test offers a quick and easy
way to predict ovulation in advance in the privacy and comfort of your home. Ovulation test kit is easy to use test which is fast, accurate and convenient.
Luteinizing Hormone plays a very
important role in ovulation. Luteinizing Hormone (LH) is a hormone produced by
our pituitary gland. Our body always makes a small amount of LH, but one or two
days before the ovulation it makes significantly more. The Ovulation Test kit
is especially designed to detect this surge in LH.
How to perform ovulation test at home with ovulation kit?
Ovulation Test is a simple test which
can be done at home. It gives accurate result in minutes. It is easily readable
and reliable. A positive result means ovulation is likely to occur in next
24-36 hours and a negative result shows that LH in urine sample is normal.
However, Ovulation Test comes with seven tests you can test again with a new test
the next day. This is important as many women have irregular period so 7 tests
are imperative.
Process of performing ovulation Test
- Collect urine in the Ovulation Test container provided once per day and the test should be performed straightaway.
- Don’t freeze the sample; it may be stored in room temperature (15º-28ºC) for up to eight hours.
- Take out the test strip from the foil pouch and remove the powder packet just before performing the test.
- Dip the strip in the sample with the arrow end pointing toward the urine.
- Do not allow the urine level to exceed the line indicated by the arrows - MAX Line
- Carefully place the ovulation test strip vertically into the urine container for 5 second
- Wait for color band to appear as it determines positive or negative result.
- You have to check the test result within 05 minutes
How to read test result?
The control line appears in the test window, but the test line (T)
is either invisible or lighter than the control line. The two test results mean
that the concentration of LH in the sample is normal. Continue to test daily
with a new strip.
The test is invalid if the control line (C) is invisible at
five minutes. The test failed, or the test procedure was not followed
correctly. Confirm the test procedure and repeat the test with a new strip.
The colour intensify of the test line(T) is the same as, or
stronger than that of the control line(C). The test result means that the
concentration of LH in the urine sample is at the level of “LH surge.”
